Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley – Beacon House
On May 5, Executive Director Semone Thomas welcomed Wisconsin State Representative Jodi Emerson and community leaders to Beacon House as part of the United Way Legislative Impact Tour.
During the visit, participants toured Beacon House shelter and learned more about the realities families experiencing homelessness face in the Chippewa Valley. The presentation highlighted the importance of family voice, emphasizing that families should be part of the conversations and decisions that directly impact their lives.
Guests also heard the song Home by Ebony V, a former Family Promise shelter guest, and listened to real success stories from both shelter and stabilization programs. The experience provided an opportunity to better understand the challenges families face, the barriers to stable housing, and the hope and support Family Promise works to provide every day.
Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley is grateful to collaborate with community leaders and partners working toward long-term solutions for families experiencing housing instability.
