Did you know that more than 300 students just in the Eau Claire Area School Districts become homeless each school year? Instead of learning, these children are worrying where they will be sleeping that night. For over 20 years, Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley has provided a safe place at Beacon House for families to live and access to programs to help them get back on their feet. We envision a day when every child has a place to call home and an opportunity for a brighter future.
The Beacon House
The Beacon House shelter, located in downtown Eau Claire, can house up to six families at a time, and provides immediate relief for families without a place to stay by giving them short-term shelter and allowing them time to get their feet back on the ground. We also have transitional housing as a steppingstone for families transitioning from Beacon House back into permanent housing. Another program we offer is Rapid Rehousing, which allows families to find permanent housing as quickly as possible once they become homeless. Our goal for this campaign is to help provide more support for these programs and to continue to grow and help more people inside and outside of the shelter.
