Family Promise Giving Day

Family Promise Giving Day is a 24-hour online campaign to raise awareness and funds to support families across America experiencing homelessness. This year, low-income families need our help more than ever.
We’re asking friends to “Give an Hour” whether that’s an hour of time volunteering, an hour’s worth of salary as a donation, or an hour spent raising awareness about the crisis of family homelessness. Just one hour can create change that lasts a lifetime. Together, we can prevent children from experiencing the trauma of homelessness and keep them with their families, safe at home.
Join us on April 11, 2024 in the fight against family homelessness.

21st Annual HIKE for the Homeless

The 21st Annual Hike for the Homeless benefits Family Promise of the Chippewa Valley Inc., which owns and operates the Beacon House Shelter in Eau Claire. We provide homeless families with temporary shelter and work with them to find permanent homes and become financially independent. In 2023 we provided shelter and other services to 37 families with 78 children in our community. Our annual event helps provide us with the financial resources to provide these services.

The Hike for the Homeless will be held on Tuesday, August 20th, at River Prairie Park in Altoona, Wisconsin. Participants will walk all or part of the 2.8-mile course. The Hike is stroller, wheelchair, and pet-friendly. "Day of" registration & refreshments start at 5 pm, HIKE starts at 6 pm, followed by gift basket prize drawings.
